Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name, place, or other term in a search tool, the entry is transmitted to the third-party company that operates that tool. Seneca County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy practices govern the query after it is sent.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or submit a message through a contact feature, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share a message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law. A message sent here does not reach the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, the Seneca County Jail, ODRC, or a court.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine server, analytics, and advertising technologies may record basic technical details when a page loads. Those details can include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit
- The browser name and version
- The device category and operating system
- The pages opened and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time of each request
Cookies and Similar Technology
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the site and support certain site or advertising functions. Most browsers allow cookies to be limited or blocked. Some features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Purposes for Using Information
Information collected through the site is used for limited operational purposes, including:
- Operating the site and maintaining reasonable performance
- Sending a search request to the selected outside provider
- Understanding which Seneca County resource pages help visitors
- Finding faults, misuse, and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to the Seneca County Sheriff's inmate and Records pages, ODRC tools, court portals, other government sources, or third-party search services. The destination's own privacy policy controls once a visitor leaves this site. A public-record request submitted to an Ohio public office is handled by that office under applicable law, including the Ohio Public Records Act, ORC 149.43, rather than under this notice.
Advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across multiple websites or select interest-based advertising. That processing occurs on their systems and is governed by their policies.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Depending on how a visitor uses the site, limited data may be provided to:
- Search partners that process terms entered in their tools
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
We use customary safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse of data under our control. No website, network, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal information may use the Contacts page to request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the nature of the request, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
- Delete personal information retained by us
- Stop certain processing where an opt-out right applies
These requests apply only to information controlled by this site. The Seneca County Sheriff, ODRC, courts, search partners, and other outside services handle requests about data in their own systems.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as site practices, services, or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and continued use after posting is subject to the revised notice.
